Cincinnati ShakeUp for Parkinson’s a Hit!

Celebrities in attendance at the Cincinnati ShakeUp for Parkinson’s event, presented by Cintas and benefitting the Gardner Center and the  Brian Grant Foundation, helped make the evening a magical and memorable one.

Above, former Cincinnati Bengal Dhani Jones with TV personality and  co-host Nick Lachey, both wearing the Parkinson’s tie designed  especially for the event and produced by Dhani’s Bowtie for a Cause. The  pattern on the tie is the chemical formula for dopamine, a chemical  responsible for transmitting signals within the brain that coordinate  movement. When dopamine-producing cells die, neurons in the brain fire  erratically, leaving patients  less able to direct or control their  movements.
